Step 1: Download and install version 1.9f of the game from here ( ) - if the link doesn't take you to version 1.9f, you should be able to find it here ( ). I acknowledge the three-step process required every time you start up the game sounds pretty tedious, but this process + loading SMU to the start screen takes less time than it does to load most of my other mobile games. Also, this YouTuber has other videos where he claims to provide a link to a working version of the latest (4.6c) build of the game with all characters unlocked, but the link doesn't work, so I recommend sticking with 1.9f. My source for this was a Youtuber ( ) but the format of the videos is not great, and I thought a written explanation would make things easier for anyone interested. The process is a bit convoluted and not for everyone, but after browsing this subreddit, it appears there is still some interest in trying to play this game in 2021. Also, the version of the game you'll be playing is from 2015, so you probably don't need a brand-new phone. The only functional version I could get to work is on Android, so if you only have Apple, sorry! This *may* work on an emulator, but I haven't tried. I was able to 'redownload' the latest version (4.6c) of the app from the Apple app store, but it has very limited functionality and is very buggy. Please note that I have both an Apple and an Android device. I went looking, and found a way to play a mostly functional version of the game - version 1.9f. Reminded me of all the fun I used to have playing the mobile game. Gameplay mechanics were similar, if a bit simplified.
